Mockingbird / 1.22.26

“Wow to the Deadness” — to the weary, the bewildered, the discouraged, and the lost, we point to the wonder (and delight) of God’s grace. Amid a world of uncertainty, conflict, and evil, we need a word that cuts through the deadness to offer wonder and playfulness. This is the cure for what ails us — and the beginning of wisdom.

Below is a (tentative) schedule of events for what is shaping up to be a fantastic conference. We have speakers, music, poetry, food, as well as some can’t-miss pre- and post-conference events.

Thursday – April 23

9:00am–12:00pm – Renewing a Local Congregation, Mockingbird Style: A Pre-Conference Seminar with Aaron Zimmerman and R.J. Heijmen (Anderson Hall at Calvary). This is a ticketed event, purchase your tickets here.

1:30–3:30pm – Preaching a Gospel That’s Gospel — Iowa Preachers Project Pre-Conference Workshop with Ken Jones, Sarah Hinlicky Wilson, and Jason Micheli (Anderson Hall at Calvary). This is a ticketed event, purchase your tickets here.

5:30pm – Registration opens

5:45pm – Same Old Song Pre-Conference Live Taping with Jacob Smith and Aaron Zimmerman (St. George’s Episcopal Church)
