Sara Kay Mooney is a writer and poetry enthusiast based in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she lives with her husband and three children. A former librarian and middle school teacher, she now works in communications for a global nonprofit and curates a weekly poetry reflection on Substack during Advent and Lent.
Born and raised in Williamsburg, Virginia, Sara Kay holds an English degree from Davidson College, where she once found herself in a late-night snowball fight with Steph Curry (her team won). Her writing has appeared in Christianity Today, Earth & Altar, Bustle, and—most importantly—Mockingbird. She shares poetry recommendations on Instagram at @skmreadspoetry.
