David Zahl Contact David Here.

David Zahl is the director of Mockingbird Ministries and editor-in-chief of the Mockingbird blog. Born in New York City and brought up elsewhere, David graduated from Georgetown University in 2001, and then worked for several years as a youth minister in New England. In 2007 he founded Mockingbird in NYC. Today David and his wife Cate reside in Charlottesville, VA with their three boys, where David also serves on the staff of Christ Episcopal Church. He is the author of A Mess of Help: From the Crucified Soul of Rock N’ Roll and co-author of Law and Gospel: A Theology for Sinners (and Saints). His most recent book, Seculosity: How Career, Parenting, Technlogy, Food, Politics, and Romance Became Our New Religion and What To Do About It, appeared in 2019 from Fortress Press. Even after all these years, he’s still mourning the end of Calvin and Hobbes (and hoping that Morrissey and Marr will bury the hatchet). His favorite theologian is probably a cross between Johnny Cash, Flannery O’Connor and his brother Simeon.

CJ Green Contact CJ Here.

CJ Green is the editor-in-chief of The Mockingbird print magazine and the head of Mockingbird publications. He studied at the University of Virginia and now lives in Charlottesville. In 2017, CJ and his wife Maddy created Mockingbird’s first children’s book, The Very Persistent Pirate; and in 2020, he oversaw the publication of Mockingbird’s second 365-day devotional, Daily Grace.

Sarah Condon Contact Sarah Here.

Sarah Condon is an associate editor of the Mockingbird Blog, author of Churchy, and co-host of The Mockingcast. She also serves as the Episcopal chaplain to Rice University. She went to Yale for Divinity School. And she only drinks organic milk. If you’re starting to feel crappy about your life reading this, please keep in mind that Sarah is deeply neurotic, originally from a state with the highest teen pregnancy rate (I see you, Mississippi), and is Mockingbird’s in-house expert for the Housewives Franchise. She is astonished that God loves and forgives even her. And she can’t stop writing about it.

Todd Brewer Contact Todd Here.

Todd Brewer is the managing editor of The Mockingbird Blog. He has served in a variety of academic and pastoral roles, teaching at Manhattan College, General Seminary, and the Lindisfarne Partnership. He graduated from Durham University in 2015 with a Phd in New Testament Studies. His thesis, “Hermeneutics and Early Christian Gospels” is under contract with Mohr Siebeck and he co-edited the Cambridge Companion to the Gospels, 2nd edition. He’s written for Mockingbird for nearly a decade now, covering topics ranging from systematic theology, to Johnny Cash, T.S. Eliot, and Pixar. He also edited and contributed to the book, Comfortable Words: Essays in Honor of Paul F.M. Zahl.

Bryan J Contact Bryan Here.

Bryan J is the voice behind Mockingbird’s chirps on Facebook and Twitter. He’s probably watching you tweet right now, like those guys scanning the Matrix code looking for Agent Smith. When Bryan isn’t playing wack-a-mole with internet trolls, he’s also contributing to the blog, magazine, and conferences. And when he isn’t hanging out with Mockingbird, he’s pastoring Epiphany Anglican Fellowship in Ligonier, P.A., enjoying small town life with his wife Beth and son Tom.
