Mbird NYC Conference Recordings

For Download and Streaming

Mockingbird / 5.1.24

Another NYC conference in the books and we’re absolutely floored by the responses we’ve received. This was easily the largest conference we’ve ever had, and it’s fair to say it was one of the best. The speakers this year were all fantastic, of course, but it was truly special to have such diverse attendees from all over the place.

And then there were all the bonus surprises: a special screening of a Academy Award nominated short film, “A Concerto is a Conversation,” by Windrider Studios, the world premiere of “Come and Save Me,” a new music video by Danielson (starring Fred Armisen with Andi Marie Tillman), as well as the announcement of the Iowa Preachers Project at Grand View University, a Lilly Foundation funded project led by Ken Sundet Jones and in partnership with Mbird and 1517.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and especially the staff and volunteers from Calvary-St. George’s for all the work they put in to make this year’s conference such a resounding success.

All the talks appear below, either streaming or download free of charge! But we would greatly appreciate if you could chip in a donation to help defray the conference costs. To do so, click here. Conferences aren’t cheap to put together and we definitely don’t make money off of them.

Talks are also available via streaming on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Wondering if Meghan O’Gieblyn’s new book will be on Simone Weil and attention? If so, I look forward to her nuanced take. Look forward to the recording! Good to see Weil regaining more popularity.

Such an amazing conference. I’m still basking in it, listening to all these messages again, each one felt written for me. There was some joking about mockingbird conferences being “homemade” , but to me, in this era of confusion and polarization, they feel simply like “home”. I cannot thank you all enough.
