Are you someone who loves to read great fiction? Have you felt rather starved for community of late? (Who hasn’t?) Well, we would like to cordially invite you to take part in our newest experiment in building virtual community: The Friends of Mockingbird Zoom Book Club.

Using your input, we will pick out some great Mockingbird-resonant works of literature (both old and new) to read together and discuss as friendly digital neighbors once a month over the next six months. It will be more-or-less like a normal book club, but hosted over Zoom (wine and cheese not provided) — with participants from around the country. There is, of course, no cost to participate, and if you’re not able to finish every month’s book or make every session, no worries! We’d just love to have you take part as you’re able and inclined.

If you want to sign up, please fill out this Google Form so you can vote on a list of book options and give us some basic information (for book club purposes only). Be advised: There is a limit to how many people can participate — so if you’re interested, make sure to sign up soon! Happy reading, folks!

UPDATE: We’ve had an such overwhelming response — far more than we anticipated. The time slots for the groups are currently full! The remarkable enthusiasm for this has not gone unnoticed. If all goes well, there may very well be opportunities for book discussion groups in the future.
