Alrighty, time for the video of DJ JAZ’s five disco-tastic devotions from the conference. Since they were conceived as a whole, we took the liberty of editing them together in the order in which they were presented, namely: “Presentation”, “Profession”, “Pedigree”, “Predisposition” and “Passion”. Boogie down!

Getting to deliver these was such a treat! 1, 4 & 5 are my faves. Thanks again, Mockingbird! JZ
Half of the time I spend on Mockingbird I spend laughing. Laughing at myself that is. Sometimes to the point of tears (the tears that come from laughing really hard) and sometimes to the point of actually crying. Because it’s all just so utterly, poignantly true. It is so very easy to attempt to base my identity on something I (think I) can control. My presentation or profession. Or rather, it’s not just easy, as if I make a concerted effort to base my identity on these things. I don’t wake up saying, “I think I’ll base my identity on my job today.” It’s just my (our human) default. And I need to keep reading and hearing the admonition to rest in the identity Christ has secured for us in order to have any chance of actually doing that. So this was helpful. As always. Thank you JZ. Man I wish I had been able to make it to this conference.
