This one was too good to pass up…

Colbert (with Sean Kelly) takes on the superficiality of our culture. Actually a pretty fascinating little interview. Take aways: read John’s Gospel, watch the Super Bowl, and read Moby Dick.
Keeping Fear Alive: Colbert’s (And Everyone’s) Christmas Krampus
The Colbert Report | Mon – Thurs 11:30pm / 10:30c
The Blitzkrieg on Grinchitude – Hallmark & Krampus

An impressively perceptive–even if rapacious–anthropological move by Hallmark last year (“This isn’t the year that any of us hoped for”), and an equally grounded card idea from Colbert.
My favorite line: “Everytime a bell rings, a Krampus torments a child with rusty chains.” To the Krampus in us all! “God help us, everyone!”
Colbert: Jesus Is a Liberal Democrat
Pretty funny (and on target), as always, from Stephen Colbert. The best line, however: “if this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn’t help the poor, either we’ve got to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are or we’ve got to acknowledge that he commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition…and then admit that we just don’t want to do it.”
