Mockingbird Events

Tony Robinson

As a graduate of Union Theological Seminary (NYC) and an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, Tony Robinson may be a rare bird in the Mockingbird aviary (or not). He has served congregations large and small, rural and urban, some mainly white, others multi-racial. He is the author of a bunch of books, including Transforming Congregational Culture (Eerdmans) and What’s Theology Got To Do With It? (Alban). His most recent book is Useful Wisdom: Letters to Young (and not so young) Ministers. A native Oregonian, he lives in the original “none zone,” the Pacific Northwest. He thinks of himself as “an evangelical liberal,” or maybe a “liberal evangelical.” Currently he is managing the “Re-Invisioning Theological Education” project of the United Church of Canada.
