Lowland Hum

After nearly a decade of relentless touring, Lowland Hum has pivoted to a more consistent cycle of writing and recording. In spring 2024, they unveiled Singing Other People’s Sad Songs, mere months after the release of their eighth album, From Self, With Love. In January of 2025, the band released a forward-looking retrospective entitled Another Side of Lowland Hum. They are currently taking submissions for their newest songwriting project.

Renowned for their DIY ethos, Lowland Hum arranges, produces, and records all of their music, pairing their work with Lauren’s distinct aesthetic as a visual artist, designer and video collage filmmaker. Daniel also produces for other artists and crafts experimental instrumental soundscapes under the moniker Windshook.

Alongside David Wax and Suz Slezak of David Wax Museum, the Goanses co-founded Golden Hour, a boundary-defying, immersive listening experience lauded by NPR’s World Cafe.

When not on the road, the Goanses are navigating the chaos of early parenthood, tending to their garden, and recording in the barn-turned-studio at their rural refuge near Charlottesville, Virginia.
