  1. Mbird and Paul,
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. This talk and Dave Zahl’s as well are so helpful to those of us still anxiously clinging to the our identities in the world (which is of course all of us, no matter how long the Spirit has been hacking away at us with his crow bar of love). I just get a little nervous when we end our discussion, whether intentionally or incidentally, with the point that we must claim our identities in Christ alone, as if it happens one day and is done. Surely it is finished, our identities in Christ are assured and waiting to be reclaimed (if not perhaps remembered), but they are not fully realized in one moment, not on this side of heaven. Even after we accept the truth that we are nothing other than the Beloved of God, indeed sometimes especially after, we are constantly in the spin-cycle of death and rebirth. The surrender is ongoing and never complete. And never gets easier. It never gets easier. It just gets sweeter as we trust more fully in the forces of demolition and reconstruction, of destruction and redemption, of RESTORATION that are constantly ongoing, as we fight the crow bar less and say “thank you Jesus” more when we see it swinging at our heads…Bless you all. Love what you do and are grateful for you.
